Residential Volunteer Opportunities involve assisting our folks with his/her daily life activities. Duties may include community outings, appointments, shopping or simply friendship development. In this residential setting, volunteers and staff help provide GMPI consumers the supports needed to live a healthy, safe and independent life.
Social & Recreation Volunteer Opportunities are available and in need in the following areas:
Activities: Assistance during certain events such as dances, large group outings, etc. Act as a chaperone and assist GMPI staff in order to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
VacationCamps: GMPI also provides vacation camps and other services to school-aged children residing in the greater Marlborough communities. Currently, after school camps are scheduled during school vacations. Volunteers are needed to assist our special education professionals for various activities, outings, crafts, etc.
Hobbies: If you have a hobby that you would like to share your knowledge about, our consumers are always interested in learning new crafts, arts, etc.
Special Olympics: Coaches are needed for Soft-Ball, Soccer, Basket Ball, Bocce, Bowling, and any other sport offered by Special Olympics of Massachusetts.
Maintenance Volunteer Opportunities
If you are a “crafty craftsman” or simply handy around tools, etc. GMPI is attempting to gather a painting crew to help beautify some of our existing residential programs. A pre-determined date(s) will be set well in advance. Other minor repairs may become available as well.
