Working closely with the Executive Director, the Director of Development will build and oversee the development infrastructure needed to keep pace with the organization’s growth and to support its strategic plan. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, build and execute GMPI’s annual fundraising plan
• Create infrastructure to support the growing development needs
• In partnership with the Executive Director, develop and maintain relationships with major donors
• Create and execute a strategy for a sustained base of individual donors
• Oversee the development and implementation of marketing materials and events associated with the organization’s 35th anniversary
• Track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
• Oversee data entry and gift processing

Key Qualifications:

• Proven ability to work in a caring, service-oriented nonprofit environment
• 5-plus years' experience in development and/or human service programs
• Strong background in building both funding and systems
• Demonstrated excellence in organizational and communication skills
• B.A. required, M.A. preferred

Other Qualifications:

• Solid writing, proofreading, personal communication and computer skills
• A passion for human services work
• Fine attention to detail and the capacity to stay focused and organized while managing multiple tasks 

Special Requirement: Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
